SPFW: Paola Robba 2011 is Sensual Chic!
The cultural diversity of Brazil, especially those expressed in artisans' work and in the country's fauna variety, served as the theme of Paola Robba's 2011 collection. Inspired in part by photos in the book "Brazil - Portrait of a Great Country" (1959, by Ellen Bromfield Geld; Stefan Geyerhahn, Ed.), Paola created colorful, texture-rich patterns, complemented by delicate (less extravagant) hardware. The prints borrowed from wicker, straw baskets and fabric tresse mats, typical from the Northeastern part of Brazil. The silhouettes were slightly larger, export-style, with special attention to the different styles of tops. Wraps, bindings and knots completed the look. The palette was rich in red, blue, brown shades and some b&w. What we most liked in Paola Robba's collection was the refreshing sensuality resulting from mixing simple, everyday elements with glamorous details and cuts. With this collection, anyone can be sure to feel like a Brazilian beach bombshell! ![]() ![]() Tags: Fashion Shows, Poko Pano |
