As the opening act of Brazilian designer swimwear labels for Fashion Rio's Summer 2013 edition earlier this evening, Blue Man could not have done better. Bringing together a mix of sexy silhouettes and vibrant colors in tropical-themed patterns, Blue Man's 2013 line epitomizes Rio de Janeiro's beachwear fashion: a sensual, joyful, lively collection of swimsuits for the stylish girl who spends most of her time at the beach.

Inspiration: Celebrating 40 years, Blue Man dedicated styles and patterns to each decade of its life for this collection - including featuring a shot of a model who represented the "face" of the brand on swimsuit prints for each decade (see below, under "Highlights" for a print representing the 2000s decade models). Along with celebrating its own history and the Brazilian labels that make beachwear, Blue Man also got inspired in the 70s era for this collection. Patterns were colorful, with Rio de Janeiro's neighborhood icons, beaches and tropical elements such as bananas, butterflies and coral reefs present in multi-hued shades:
