Fashion Rio Summer 2013: Cia Maritima
by The Splash
Yesterday evening, a who's-who of Brazilian models crossed Fashion Rio's catwalks to showcase Cia Maritima 2013 Summer collection. Izabel Goulart opened and closed the show in eye-catching monokinis, a style for which Cia Maritima's design team seem to contribute a lot in swimsuit innovation. Vibrant colors shared space with muted, sepia tone hues, and silhouettes were designed to portray either high-octane glamour or massive sex appeal. One thing is for sure: Cia Maritima swimwear is perfect for the self-confident woman, who does not mind (or might even enjoy) getting noticed and turning heads in her swimsuit!
Inspiration: Hawaii, its beautiful beaches and landscapes. Prints of the Pacific archipelago with a vintage treatment, pineapples, seahorses, typical Hawaiian flowers and a hint of gold accents in beads and threads were present. The mixing of distinct prints on the same piece and elegant flowing kaftans -two of the label's signature styles - were also included in the collection:
