Earlier this evening, Salinas Swimwear unveiled their colorful 2013 Summer collection during Fashion Rio. The spirit of the Salinas girl, the modern version of the Ipanema beachgoer, was certainly there - with the line's multicolored prints and cheeky silhouettes, reflecting the Salinas customer's youthful joie de vivre. Above all, Salinas really impressed us with their masterful detailing, with beautifully executed overlaid fabric construction, piping trims and draping.

Inspiration: Celebrating 30 years of the Salinas brand this year, designer Jacqueline De Biase took inspiration in the plurality of Brazilian culture for the label's 2013 collection. Looking at the country's mix of peoples that produced unique cultural facets, the collection brings references from Africa, Asia, etc. The prints included gingham, Japanese flower illustrations, beautiful patterns depicting Rio de Janeiro's mountains, and a whimsical world map collage. As always, the beach element was heavily present and Salinas cleverly utilized polyester beach chair materials and patterns to make hats, bracelets, swimsuit trims and print:
