Designer Profile: Cia Maritima (Part I)
by The Splash
Our Designer Profile series continue, this time
featuring the notorious beachwear label Cia
Maritima - the background of the brand and designers' story. Next week,
we'll take a look at press received by Cia Maritima and things we 'heart' about
the brand!

The Rosset Group is the largest textile manufacturer in Brazil, and the largest producer of textiles with lycra in South America. Benny Rosset, the grandson of Rosset's Group founder Henrique Rosset, launched Cia Maritima in 1990, and since then, the label has become the largest exporter of beachwear in Brazil.
Cia Maritima leverages the know-how of Rosset Group's in textile manufacturing to launch beachwear with new and improved fabrics each season, as well as exclusive prints and patterns. For this reason, and being a major exporter to Europe and US, Cia Maritima plays a major role in launching tendencies within the swimwear industry, specifically as it relates to Brazilian swimwear trends.
The Cia Maritima brand is recognized worldwide as one of the top most swimwear labels when it comes to quality, in part due to its extensive investment in the most cutting-edge technologies. Another area that Cia Maritima stands out are for its glamorous campaigns and runway shows. Cia Maritima casts the hottest models of the moment, such as Karolina Kurkova, Naomi Campbell, Gisele Bundchen, Shirley Malmann, Isabeli Fontana, among others and is constantly featured in many prominent fashion magazines.

Designers Mariana Adans and Patrizia
Simonelli are responsible for the brand's stylish
swimwear. Prior to lending their creative abilities to the label, they
worked as fashion producers for specialized magazines, TV shows and as stylists
for musicians. Both designers have degrees in Fashion Design and Patrizia
also pursued specialization at the Marangoni Institute, in Milan.
Brand founder and designer Benny Rosset, is also the Creative Director for Cia Maritima and is closely involved with the creation process for the brand. Benny Rosset's proposition for Cia Maritima, from its inception, has been to create a beachwear lifestyle concept, rather than just to massively produce swimwear.
