Accessible Designer Swimwear: C&A Brazil Partners With Amir Slama
by The Splash

The Brazilian branch of C&A, one of the leading 'fast fashion' style retail companies in parts of Europe and Latin America, is continuing the concept of accessible high fashion by partnering with renowned designers for their collections. For its 2010 Beachwear line, C&A Brazil invited designer Amir Slama (founder of Rosa Cha and the brand's designer for years) to pen 70 items, including bikinis, one-pieces, cover-ups, beach bags, sandals and men's swimwear. Dutch supermodel Doutzen Kroes stars a portion of the campaign, shot in Brazil back in October.

The creation and production processes lasted about three months and were closely followed by Amir, who used the punk movement attitude and the 90's as basis for his inspiration. The result, which you can see below, are swimsuits with floral tattoos, floral bicolor, scorpions, stripes and polka dots in a palette of citric and fluorescent tones, such as lime-green, fuchsia, orange and turquoise blue.
