Fashion Rio Summer 2011: Salinas Swimwear
by The Splash
The fashion show season is underway and top swimwear designers in both hemispheres are starting to give us a glimpse of what's going to be hot in swimwear for 2011. Yesterday, Salinas showcased their collection during the first day of Fashion Rio - Summer 2011.
Inspired by her trip to Havana last year, designer Jacqueline de Biase mixed the rich cultural elements of Cuba and Bahia (Brazilian northeastern state) to come up with a vibrant and colorful collection. Flowers, bows and ruffles in striking color combinations were all part of the latin-infused designs. One innovation, developed by Jacqueline and a supplier are special sequin applications that are water-safe (and oh-so-posh for a swanky, post-beach soiree!)
Below are a few of Salinas 2011 creations. Stay tuned for our continuing coverage of Fashion Rio - Summer 2011 next week with Lenny Niemeyer's collection!
